Summer 12

Hi. We had a wonderful time at Linda's beautiful house last week. I was inspired by everyone's projects and information. Linda mentioned that Pat is having surgery on her shoulder soon; she fell at home and fractured or shattered her shoulder in about 11 places (I could be wrong on the number), but she is knitting inspite of the injury. Keep her in your prayers.

Also Candi lost her knitting pattern on the way home from Linda's. Did anyone find it or take it by mistake? By the way, if you are going to Cal Expo, look for Candi's tea cozy on display; she placed 4th (I could be wrong on the number).

Summer days are quickly coming to an end. Class registration starts this Tuesday, and class begins on September 13. I will add the supply list as soon as possible; it will also be on the Placer School for Adults website on the bottom of the home page. See you then.

August 28, Tuesday, Fall registration for classes begins. Catalogs have been sent out by Placer School for Adults. Did you notice all the great classes Linda is teaching?

Hi. There are a few birthdays in August so I wish you all a Happy Birthday!

Did you hear about the "Beat the Heat Sale" at Beverly's on Saturday, August 18? This is "the biggest sale Beverly's has ever had" only at the Rocklin store. The time is from 7 to 11 a.m. They say that customers will have to wait in line so treats and prizes will be prepared. There will be a shopping spree, door prizes, craft projects, refreshments and music. Plus, your entire purchase is 40% off with the special coupon. However, you must have an admission ticket and the special coupon to get in (it is on the same sheet). So, stop by Beverly's before Saturday to get your invitation which includes the admission ticket and special coupon.

Also don't forget to RSVP for Linda's Knitting Party which is August 23.

Summer 9

Hi. Three of us found a nice place to knit at the Auburn library last week. Bev is working on her third pair of socks which is really nice, Candi is finishing a sweater from way back, and I finally finished the sweater from last year's class. I'm working on two projects this week: Mary Jane slippers and a small cat; both patterns are under the category of "free knitting patterns" on the internet.

Congratulations to Candi. She entered her tea cozy for the State Fair and won 4th place! It will be on display at Cal Expo this year.
