Gansey Extension

It was a fun time. Linda and Nola met with Knotty Knitters from 3 to 8:30 pm. There were groups shopping for Skiff clothing and jewelry, knitting rugs for their book, taking the hook rug flower pin class, and having a good time with yummy treats and tea.

Nola brought a huge selection of Skiffs.
Cynthia is full of surprises; she also makes jewelry.

Gansey Wk 12

It was the last class of the Fall session, and we had a wonderful Christmas party.

On Dec. 13, we will have a special extension for rug knitting, a Skiff party, Nola's hook rug flower pin class, and just knitting together. Feel free to come even if you are not involved in any of the activities.  Linda and Nola will be at the ARD center from 3:00 to 8:30. Nola's class will also be held on Saturday morning; you will need to sign up in advance. The class is $20, and additional pin kits can be purchased. For this class, bring either a small quilting hoop or a very large embroidery hoop.

The next session will begin on January 10. The theme of the class will be Pop Knitting and modular pieces from New Zealand.

 Show 'n Tell
Lynette made this cute snowman ornament out of felt pieces.

Linda takes the prize for knitting not just one, but three Gansey samplers for her three granddaughters' American Girl dolls.
 Pictures of the Handmade Gifts
Linda made this bowl out of a Knit Pick catalog.

Penny made this clever Knit Station out of a dog biscuit container.

Karen M. made two cotton cup cozies and two dish towels.

Mary Beth made this pretty fabric knitting bowl.

Linda L. received a handmade necklace made out of puzzle pieces and beads from Linda.

Everyone wanted this gift: a glass yarn bowl made by Toni.

Diana and Linda look over a pattern that came with a gift.

What a fun gift! A big sheep pillow.

A darling ornament on a gift.

We love to shop! Toni brought her handmade glass pieces for us to buy. I think a few ordered the glass knitting bowl we all coveted. By the way, Cynthia was the recipient.

Hope to see you next week. I will post pictures of the extension next weekend. Happy knitting!

December 13 Rug and Skiff Party
The rug meeting will start at 3 pm instead of 1 pm. Even if you are not making a rug, you can come and knit with the group. The Skiff party will start at 6 pm. There is a preference form to fill out, so Nola can bring clothing that we are interested in.

Nola will also have a hook flower pin class for $20. You can make either a sunflower, daisy, or poinsetta.

Teri's beautiful top. She bought the yarn at VKL in Chicago.

Cynthia figured out how to prevent her sweater from sagging from the weight of the yarn. She added strips in the shoulder areas from the neckline down as shown below.

Happy knitting!
