Summer 8

Hi. Did you register for class? I hope so.

I left for Patrick's Point State Park near Eureka right after registering for class. Checked out another yarn store in Arcata and have been very good about not buying any unnecessary items.

Did anyone pick up a supplies list for class? Since I faxed my registration, I did not pick one up. I will be glad to put on this blog the supplies list for both the intermediate and advance class once I have the lists.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Summer 7

Hi. Stores are already thinking ahead for the Fall and holiday season. Sent an email yesterday that Betty Ann's in Old Auburn is looking for knitting and crochet items to sell.

Also sent an email asking about the state fair bra display and appreciated hearing back. Here's one Knotty Knitter's comment: "The exhibit was nice, simply put up on the wall 4 across and 3 down. I didn't like the fact that the bras could be touched with no arms distance rope to prohibit any touching. I did stand back for a short time, watch people observe and listened to their comments. The comments were 'this is art?', 'they must be really bored', these coming from younger people. Women 40+ smiled and looked at each bra with great interest and took pictures, lots. People were either somehow offended by it or took it with humor and love for knitting which we intended. Everyone loved and pointed to the November, turkey bra, they loved it."

Reminder: Registration for Placer School for Adult classes begins next Tuesday! Hint: Sign up on the first day if you want in.

Trying to finish up three projects before Fall class begins, including the summer challenge. One naughty knitter could not remember what the challenge is; it is to make something (fabulous) with the yarn we dyed in June. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Summer 7

Hi. I visited two local yarn shops in Fort Bragg and Mendocino this week. Saw some beautiful handpainted multicolored yarn in the Mendocino store and now understand why it is expensive. One of the customers at the lys bought everything from scratch since she did not bring anything to knit with while on vacation. From stitch markers to row counter, yarn and needles, what fun they were all having.

I noticed the supplies lists are not updated on the Placer School for Adults page yet, but we still have plenty of time.

The California State Fair opened yesterday. A good reason to go might be to check out the knit bra display.

Knit on!

Summer 6

Happy Birthday August babes!

Heard from a Knaughty Knitter that the Fall schedule is online. You can go to the site by clicking on Placer School for Adults on the left side column of this page. It lists the details of each class Linda is teaching. Classes start the second week of September.

Next week, August 14, is the Cal Expo award night. I think I will be out of town and would deeply appreciate a few photos so we can all see what it was like.

Take care and knit on!
