Knitting Party Update

It was awesome! Teri throws the best parties.

How much yarn in the bottle?  Linda P. guessed the closest amount.

Starting a scarf. We all knitted a row that Karen M. won at the end of the party.

Jennifer made some bracelets.

Working hard on a craft.

Karen W. looks on as Linda L. makes stitch markers.

We made dpn holders made with rubber inner bike tires.

Candi with her finished projects that Teri provided:
several bracelets, a yarn caddy, and knitting the scarf.

The Gansey sweater for the Fall class.

Judith tells a touching story during sharing time.

Lynette and Karen W. knitting slippers. See Teri's yarn bombed umbrella?

Making journals that Teri provided.

What can this be?

Debi holds the project that turns into a slipper.

Karen with her prize: the scarf that we all knitted a row during the party.

Thank you very much, Teri, from all of us.

Teri's Knitting Party

I hope you are all safe from the Robbers fire. I pray it is put out soon.

Ten of us were on the Good Day Sacramento morning show on Channel 31 (live) on Monday around 8:30 at Cal Expo. Linda P. did a wonderful job speaking for us. The theme was about the presidential pets. Linda L, Colleen, Cynthia, and Linda P's husband look at our presidents below. It is a very nice display.

Teri's knitting party is this coming Saturday, the 21st. If you would like to carpool, we are meeting behind Raley's (Foresthill exit) in the parking lot at 9 a.m. Teri says that we do not have to be on time, so don't stress out about the time. Also, her driveway will not hold all of our cars, so some of us will have to park a block away and walk up to her place.

Things to bring to Teri's party:
sack lunch,
your knitting, ball of yarn 9 yds and one 170 yds,
#7 or 8 knitting needles,
pair of CLIP on earrings or 2 good size buttons,
and a little something to share with about 20 friends such as a pattern, poem or quote, tips, website, joke or cartoon, favorite yarn, stitch pattern, or a favorite tv show or music you knit to, etc. (optional).

Teri will provide drinks, snacks, and desserts. Hope to see you there.

Happy summer knitting!

July Tidbits

How's your summer?  What projects are you working on?  I bet you have finished several projects since the presidents were due. It would be nice to post your projects here throughout the summer, so I don't look like I'm bragging posting my show n' tells all by myself.

Irene's Pinwheel Rug. I tripled the CO number on the pattern. If I made this again, I would quadruple the CO amount or use chunky yarn or use two strands of ww for a better small size rug.

Irene's cotton woven rug. I did not enjoy the repetition of knitting strips or tacking this down, but I like the feel of this rug.

It looks like we may meet on July 16 instead of the 12th for Good Day Sacramento at Cal Expo. Wait for further word from Linda.

Teri's summer knitting party is on July 21. I've already had to make two copies for ladies who misplaced the handout. Good thing it is on salmon colored paper, or I would misplace it too.

An email was sent by Linda looking for volunteers to knit rugs for a book that she plans to write. She is waiting on approval of the contents from the publisher before assigning the patterns.

Enjoy your summer and happy knitting!
