Pop Knit Wk 1

Welcome back!  And, welcome to the newest member, Diana. It was the first night of class, and we had an enjoyable time knitting and drinking tea. This session is about Pop Knitting and making pieces from Nikki Gabrielle's designs. Linda wrote in an email: "We will discuss the Constructions at the first class. It is hard to believe it is already 2013 and time for knitting again. I hope everyone is ready for an exciting semester learning some fabulous techniques that can be used in a variety of ways and will in general stretch you as knitters. In addition, I am excited to introduce Constructions to you. Starting with a basic shape such as a square, everything from a caplet to a full sweater can be knit and everything in between. I can't wait to see everyone on Thursday."

Unfortunately while trying to load photos on the blog, I deleted all the photos from the past to the present. Of course, I am sick about it. There is no way I can put them back. I am very sorry.

Pop Knitting Lesson
We practiced two of the techniques (the first ones on the two handouts we received). Linda casted on 19 stitches for the samples. Reminder: Wyb stands for with yarn in back; Wyf stands for with yarn in front. Supplies for this class are: 4 ww yarn of different colors from your stash, size 7 needles straight or circular, row counter, and stitch markers.

Materials Fee
A $5 material fee is being collected. Write "paid" next to your name on the enrollment list when paying.

It's coming up next month, Feb. 23! The bus trip is $47. Write check out to Linda Pietz. Sorry, no refunds after Feb. 1 since she needs to pay the bus company. Vogue Knitting Convention Update
The knitted presidents will not be going to the NY Vogue knitting convention at this time as mentioned in an email during the holidays. They will be on display in Sauder Village (Ohio) from February to the end of October of this year.

Thank you to Louise for bringing us tangerines fresh off the tree from her yard.

Happy knitting everyone!
