Extension Week 2

Bea's fantastic carpet bag with beads is finished! It is huge, heavy, and lined on the inside with beautiful material and a pocket.
Teri found this knitted quilt in a thrift store. A lot of work went into this large quilt which was all sewn together with thread. Irene knitted the neck warmer and hooded scarf; patterns are from "Knit 2 Together."

Linda's show n' tell. The slippers are complete with the help of her daughter. The darling ghords with fiber arts will be shown to her friend, an author that is writing a book on fiber arts; Linda will be a hand model in the book.

As usual, it was a pleasant evening as we chatted and worked on our knitting projects. The triangles chosen for the backgammon sets really stand out and look nice. No one has completed it yet, so hang in there with the repetitive design.

A few students came to class disappointed that they are on the waiting list for the spring class. If you are on that list, don’t lose hope. Linda came up with a couple of ideas such as splitting the class or having some come during the beginning knitting class. I think we all want to stay together, so let’s wait and see what happens.

Linda mentioned the attendance for this class is great. But with the new budget cuts announced, attendance for students over 55 is crucial in keeping this class going. Keep in mind that Placer School for Adults receives no money (funding) without the attendance numbers.

There is no class next week for semester break. Liz is organizing a meeting place for anyone who wants to get together to knit next Thursday night. Watch for her email message.

For the first class on January 31, Linda will go over the various vest patterns that will be handed out, plus teach us free form. Bring a variety of yarn and needles especially worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles for the first class.

Have a wonderful week and have fun knitting.

Love love love the show n' tell projects!

Wish I could have been at class, but I opted to stay home and go over some important paperwork with hubby. I did knit during the day and late evening, though!
Does that count?

;-)

Thank you, Irene - for keeping us absentees up to date with all the Knotty Knitting Knews (I spelled that wrong on purpose - cute, hey?!?)

You are welcome and very cute choice of words. I'm glad you liked the projects.
