Color Techniques II Wk 9

Happy Birthday March Knitters!

Linda demonstrated double knitting with a special cast on, and we practiced making a swatch in class. A 4-page handout was distributed. She would like us to make at least one coaster from one of the patterns. This technique can be knit closed for a scarf/potholder or opened on one end for a pouch.

Next Week: Nola's Challenge is Due
We will continue double knitting, and remember Nola's Challenge is due! We will be judging each other for prizes.

Sacramento City Visit
A sign up sheet for the April 2 visit to the Sacramento City Camellia (SCC) Knitting Guild led by Lorna Miser was passed around. Linda would like to know how many are coming and what projects will be available to show.

River Cats Stitch n Pitch
The SCC is planning to attend the Stitch n Pitch at the River Cats game this Spring. We are invited to come too. Linda needs to know how many are interested in going so the SCC can purchase tickets.

Finger Puppets Deadline
The deadline for the state fair application is due mid April. We will need a few puppets finished for photos to send in with the application. This challenge is due the first Thursday in May.

Wagon Wheel Rug Class
A photo of Nola's rug is on her website: www.nolahooks.com. Even if you do not take this class, we are invited to come and knit.

Jake's Afghan
Thought you'd like to know that Jake loves his afghan. He said it is beautiful.

Show n Tell
Linda bought this top at Stitches West. The front is colorful too and has different buttons. The website is www.handjivewearart.com.

Debi's chain link scarf. She is excited about Nola's Challenge that she finished.

Vicky felted two large purses. Recently, she and Roni shopped at the Whistle Stop in Colfax where they bought yarn for 25 cents a skein.

Vickie crocheted this vest.

Vickie also made this bag filled with rice using the Helix method.

Cheryl made the knitting needle pouch from last week's pattern.

Roni sewed this quilt for a friend.

Penny knitted a scarf.

Laurie used yarn that she bought at Stitches West for this scarf.

Teri's chain link scarf

Diana could not attend class tonight, but she dropped by to show us her costume for Celebrity Chef in Auburn

Happy Knitting!
