Pop Knit III Wk 4

Holes. Yes, we worked on holes, but nice ones. Linda went over the intarsia pattern for the cute holes. Our homework is to finish the base, whether we want to make the open hole and/or closed in hole. She will show us how to add the center curled piece next week. Note: one row on the pattern chart equals two rows.

Braided Piece
We also learned how to put the two cabled braids together.

Construction Piece
Linda apologized for giving us the wrong measurements last week. The new measurements are the following:

Hood, 10" by 18.25"

Hood and Scarf, 10 by 36.75

Hoody Vest, 20 by 36.75

Scarf Only, 10 by 36.75

Vest, 15 by 36.75

Cardigan, width 13 3/4 inches, length 8 (front) x 5.75 (armholes) x 9 1/4 (back) x , 5.75 (armholes) x 8 (front). The model is super slim, so make adjustments for your measurements. Teri and Toni made templates out of material for their measurements. For example, Teri's vest measures 8 x 10 x 18 x 10 x 8 inches.

Sleeves, knit 5.75 inches of stockinette before starting decrease.

Potluck Next Week
We are having a potluck next week in honor of Linda's husband who eats frozen dinners on the nights she teaches class. Linda is deeply appreciative. She is bringing plates, napkins, and silverware. In addition, bring two rolls of crepe paper of any color, a little ribbon for the tie, and size 10 1/2 needles for our special project: a birthday crown. Candi mentioned that you can buy a package of two rolls at the Dollar Store.

Materials Fee
Reminder, a $5 materials fee is being collected.

Blue Yarn for Louise, Please
Louise is in need of any type and shade of blue yarn to complete a rug. The length should be a generous 8 yards.

Toni knitted both this lovely top and skirt. She bought the pattern for the top at Stitches, and the skirt is a Cascade 220 pattern.

Lynette models a beautiful circular vest that Toni knitted.
Happy knitting everyone!
